Here's Your First Look at the Takeshi's Castle Reboot
After 34 years, Takeshi’s Castle is back with even more hilarity. Amazon Prime Video’s reboot of the viral TBS game show will be released in the Philippines by the end of 2023, but here’s the first look at the insanity that awaits us.
Created by Amazon Prime Video and TBS, the reboot looks completely bonkers. After a stressful pandemic, that might be exactly what we need to let loose. The reboot has leveled up the playing field with even bigger (and harder) games, as well as an entire compound that was built just for the show at TBS studios in Midoriyama.

The Enduring Appeal of Takeshi's Castle
The new series features over 300 contestants who were chosen from a pool of 1,300 applicants. Some were so young that their parents had to join the show, and others participated in the game 34 years ago and came back for a second chance. Everyone from professional athletes to YouTubers participated Takeshi’s Castle, including our personal favorite contestant, the popular mascot Chiitan who really competed in the games while dressed as a giant otter. Talk about commitment.
Meanwhile, Takeshi’s Castle’s cast includes Takeshi Kitano as Lord of Takeshi’s Castle; Bananaman duo Osamu Shitara and Yuki Himura as Chief Retainer and Vassal; Shinya Ueda as First Castle Castellan; Naomi Watanabe as Second Castle Castellan; Ennosuke Ichikawa IV as Third Castle Castellan; and Hayato Tani and Subaru Kimura as Attack Captains.
