The Bear Just Featured Michelin-Starred Filipino Restaurant Kasama

Our favorite fictional brooding Chicago-based are back again. In this new season of The Bear, we're getting an ensemble that definitely knows themselves. Carmy and Sydney are set to open their new space and the journey has got them looking for inspiration elsewhere.

Richie is going through his own enlightenment era. Tina is going to culinary school. Marcus goes to Denmark to learn from a Carmy double in Will Poulter. Sydney, on the other hand, is left traversing Chicago's best restaurants for some, well, culture.

In the second season, The Bear highlights the local food scene. Sydney goes on to scout and her trip starts with the Filipino restaurant Kasama in Chicago's East Ukrainian Village. Yes, that Kasama, the one that just got its second James Beard Award. It's sort of carved out this niche for itself in the culinary community on the East side. The Michelin-starred restaurant serves up some tapsilog, hashbrowns sandwiches, and more. Later on, Carmy even tries to recreate his own version of Adobo. Very cool.

Carmy and her, after all, are trying to get The Bear its own star. They really want it, as Sydney makes clear early on. Elske co-owner David Posey helps Sydney broaden her horizons, as well.>pThis was a pretty nice gesture for The Bear. The show did its best to have cameos of the people and places that make up Chicago's local food culture. Now, if they could just fix those damn walls.>p
