Netflix's new reality show, The Push, looks to see if a group of actors can convince one unknowing person to commit murder. What could go wrong?!

Derren Brown is a psychological illusionist, which is apparently a profession where the guy is able to do things like manipulate Simon Pegg into thinking he really wants a red BMX bike. So in other words, he's less of a magician and more of a really advanced con artist.

In this new show, Brown takes that skill to a pretty extreme level, one where he puts one unwitting participant in a situation where they might have to commit murder. A group of actors works to see if they can convince this person to actually participate in killing another human. It's not real, of course, but it's still absolutely fucked up.

As Netflix describes it, "Brown exposes the psychological secrets of obedience and social compliance. He expertly lifts the lid on the terrifying truth that, when confronted with authority, our natural instinct is to unflinchingly obey without question—to such an extent that even the most moral people can be made to commit the most horrendous acts, simply because they are told to do so."

Which sounds a little bit less horrible, but still pretty messed up. Anyway, this should all go pretty well.
