Linkin Park Makes a Comeback With New Vocalist Emily Armstrong
Linkin Park marks their return to the music scene with Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara as their new co-vocalist. This news comes alongside the revelation of their first album in seven years, From Zero, set to release on November 15. The band’s resurgence also includes a headlining tour, their first since the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017.

The announcement was made during a live performance event, which was streamed online. The band also introduced Colin Brittain, a renowned songwriter and producer, as their new drummer. Brittain has written for and produced acts such as Papa Roach, Hands Like Houses, Basement, Dashboard Confessional, 5 Seconds of Summer, Miyavi, and One Ok Rock. This pivotal moment in the band's history was further highlighted by the release of their new single, "The Emptiness Machine."
Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, and Joe Hahn have been quietly working on new material over recent years. Rather than attempting to restart the band, they sought to evolve, leading to their collaboration with Armstrong and Brittain. The chemistry between the original members and the new additions has been described as invigorating, bringing a renewed sense of purpose and creativity to the group.
The From Zero album is a nod to the band's origins, referencing their initial name, Xero.
"This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead," Shinoda stated in a press release.
Linkin Park’s From Zero World Tour" is set to kick off on September 11 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with subsequent stops in New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota. Ticket sales start on September 7.
This announcement follows the release of "Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023)" earlier this year, which featured some of the band’s greatest hits. The collection served as a reminder of Linkin Park’s enduring legacy and their ability to evolve while staying true to their roots.
The band's last live performance was a tribute concert for Bennington in October 2017, an emotionally charged event that provided closure for many fans. Since then, the band members have been contemplating their future, ultimately deciding to move forward with a new lineup that honors their past while embracing new possibilities.
