Always been curious about sign language, but never quite gotten around to learning it? You can now pick up some basic Filipino Sign Language (FSL) on the go with FSL Buddy.

The app includes over 200 signs, including the alphabet, animals, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, colors, etc. You can search for a specific sign or browse by category. Once you select a sign, a video of a person demonstrating that sign will pop up.

The app is a project of the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, which has long been known for its School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), as well as its Filipino Sign Language (FSL) courses. The app is meant to serve as a learning companion or study guide for CSB’s Filipino Sign Language Learning Program.

Even though the app is still under development, you can already download it from Google Play Store and try it out. A second language is always a handy skill to have, and sign language can use more people who are well-versed in it.
