This Fil-Am Guy Who Pranked His Mom Has Brought All Filipinos Together

If you’re a young Filipino who's ever been inked, you’re familiar with the, um, struggle of acquiring permission. But some rebels make the decision to opt out of the permissions part and go straight into sermon territory—if that’s you, prepare to be triggered.
Last week, Thomas Tolentino came home fresh from graduation and right into the loving arms of his angry Filipino mom. In the car, he tells her that he got a tattoo of the Philippine flag on his thigh, and she loses her mind. An appeal to her nationalism was not enough. Neither was his offer to get her initials tattooed next.
Fortunately for her, he was joking about the tattoo. And, fortunately for us, he captured the whole thing on video.
I pranked my mom and told her I got a filipino flag tattoo on my thigh and she went ballistic filipino mom style ????????. pic.twitter.com/ytZmtMC44r

From the video, we can also gather that Thomas has recently gotten some piercings and that the new bad boy image is taking a toll on his parents. One step at a time, Thomas. “Hindi pa kami nakaka-recover!” says his mom. She also pulls out the Ultimate Pinoy Nanay line: "Kayong lahat ang papatay sa akin."
The video captures some other classics like: “Umaabuso ka na!”, “Kunin mo ng picture!”, “Alam mong ikakagalit namin!” but she also gives us a few unexpected gems, like: “Sa tingin mo hindi mapapansin ng dad mo?! Ang dad mo na-train sa military!”
Don’t worry, Thomas’ mom! Apparently, you’re not alone. The video went viral and uncovered a plethora of Filipino kids with angry moms, proving that everyone has the same Angry Nanay Experience—and we do mean everybody, including famously badass Pinoy rappers:
I asked my mom how she would feel if I got a tattoo and she deadass told me to read the Bible lmfaoo

When my late husband’s dad first saw HIS tattoo... he asked, “hijo... is that a real tattoo??” He panicked and said, it’s just IRON ON!

Kudos to Thomas’ mom for taking a joke, and kudos to Thomas for reminding us all never to piss off our moms.
