Paeng Nepomuceno, 65, Wins Asian Senior Championships Crown
At the age of 65, Paeng Nepomuceno is back at it again, folks (well, he's never really left). This time, he's conquering the seniors bowling division. The hall of famer bowler just recently bagged the Asian Seniors Championships trophy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Nepomuceno tallied a whopping 1264 at the 65+ division of the tourney, edging out Japanese and Korean bowlers Akira Nakada and Jin Headong, who each scored 1238 and 1223, respectively.
The six-time World Cup champ scored 248 in the fifth game of the championships, which happened to be the best among the 57-man competition. He ended the games with a score of 231.

In an interview with Esquire Philippines back in 2017, Nepomuceno revealed what keeps him going at this point of his life:
The then-59-year-old Nepomuceno stated: "The challenge. These days, I want to prove that I can still go on as long as I feel competitive. My biggest challenge now is to keep up with the younger ones. I want to prove that [I’m not] a fluke, na hindi ako tsamba. I worked hard. I became the first two-time World Cup champion in 1980.
"Okay, I thought, what’s the next level? Then I got my third World Cup. Then the challenge became about keeping up with the changes in technology—the bowling balls and the lanes started changing. You have to reinvent yourself because the style that worked for you before won’t work anymore. Reinvention was my goal. And that’s how I reached three Guinness World Records."
The Filipino sports legend still holds the Guiness Book of Records distinction for most World Cup titles, winning it four times, in 1976, 1980, 1992, and 1996.
