Eddie Garcia is 89 years old. That's almost nine decades (and just 11 years short of 100) on this God's green earth, and, as we found out during our candid interview with the legendary actor, he's made sure to lead a disciplined but colorful life.

Some highlights: He hates complicated phones and values punctuality. His dream was to become a soldier, but acting saved his life. He's okay with being hated... as a villain. He has a hearty laugh. He's still sharp as a tack.

Oh, he's a badass. But we already know that last one.

His latest film, ML, arrives in theaters on November 7. Below, more of Eddie's hard-won wisdom. It's a good watch. We promise.

In this story: Interview by Miguel Escobar • Styling by Clifford Olanday • Makeup by Joan Teotico using NARS Cosmetics • Hair by Bryan D. Resureccion • Sport coat by Hermès
