Manny Pangilinan's MPTC Working on CALAX-CAVITEX Connector Road

A road that will link the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax) and the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex) will start construction within the year. Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. said the P2 billion Calax-Cavitex Connection will be around 1.2 kilometers long and will run from Kawit to Imus, Cavite. 

"We already have a loan facility with BDO to finance the construction of the Calax-Cavitex Connection,” Christopher Lizo, MPTC CFO, said.  

Meanwhile, MPTC unit Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. reported that its Cavitex C5 Link project, a joint venture partner with the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), is now 20 percent complete. The Cavitex C5 Link project is a 7.7-kilometer two-by-three lane expressway that will connect Cavitex R1 to C5 in Taguig, This

"We are proceeding with the construction for this vital infrastructure project amidst the challenges of stricter lockdown,” Cavitex President Roberto V. Bontia said. “Together with our JV partner, PRA, we are committed to ensure the welfare of our workers and adherence to safety protocols in continuing the works for the project,”

Once completed, the Cavitex C5 Link is expected to reduce travel time between Cavitex to Makati and Taguig and vice versa by 30 to to 45 minutes and will benefit around 50,000 motorists, particularly those coming from Taguig, Makati, Las Pinas, and Pasay.
