If you’ve ever wanted to go vegan but can’t say goodbye to tuna, you’re in luck.Ā

The makers of the Century Tuna have introduced a plant-based alternative to the fish meat that’s completely fish meat-free. unMEAT Fish-free Tuna is made with 100-percent based plant-based ingredients—non-GMO soy, natural oils, and flavors—but still possesses the taste, texture, and appearance of regular tuna.

In a news release, Century Pacific Food, Inc (CNPF). said it had actually launched unMEAT Fish-free Tuna about two months ago and is now distributed in over 500 retail outlets overseas, including in the United States, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates.

UnMEAT Fish-free Tuna is part of CNPF’s unMEAT plant-based meat alternatives business, which the company has been expanding since it was launched in 2020. Last year, the company rolled out its shelf-stable unMEAT luncheon meat line and unCHEESE, a plant-based dairy alternative. Earlier this year, a localized breakfast range was introduced to the Philippine domestic market.Ā

ā€œunMEAT Fish-free Tuna is a gamechanger,ā€ said CNPF’s COO Greg Banzon. ā€œMuch of the focus in the industry has been on meat alternatives. On the other hand, seafood alternatives remain a wide-open space where we see pent up demand from consumers looking for healthier and more sustainable options at an accessible price.ā€

CNFP introduced unMEAT ā€œin response to the expanding consumer preference for healthier, better-for-you, and better-for-the-planet food choices. The company goes by the philosophy that eating plant-based food should be easy, thus offerings are made and priced as close as possible to their real meat and seafood counterparts.ā€

Today CNFP’s unMEAT products are distributed in countries like the UAE, United States, China, Australia, and Singapore.Ā

A report by a research company said the global plant-based meat market is projected to reach $24.8 billion by 2030. The market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19.3 percent from 2022 to 2030.
