Here's How to Get Free COVID-19 Insurance Via Lazada

Customers who pay their bills via the Lazada wallet in the app will get free COVID-19 insurance through the e-commerce company’s partnership with insurance marketplace Kwik.insure.

For every successful bills payment transaction, customers will get a P10,500 one-month coverage for accidental death, death due to sickness, and death due to COVID-19. 

Customers can avail of up to 10 insurance vouchers per month. 

Billers that accept payments in the the Lazada app include Meralco, Maynilad, Autosweep, Easytrip, Globe, Smart, and many others. 

The free insurance coverage is being offered until October 2021.

“For us at Lazada, our innovations, promotions, and services are all geared at ensuring we address the needs and priorities of those we serve,” Lazada COO Carlos Barrera said. “Through our partnership with Kwik.insure, we are happy to be able to provide our customers with access to a service that is most especially valuable and relevant today." 

“Through our partnership with Lazada, we provide millions of Filipinos the opportunity to have insurance against COVID-19,” said Hamilton Angluben, founder and CEO of Kwik.insure. “Given our country’s low insurance penetration rate, majority of them will be first-time insurance availers. The goal is to educate more people about the value of insurance and learn how easy it is to be protected.” 

Angluben added that Kwik.insure’s desire to increase insurance penetration in the country and to educate more people about insurance spurred the partnership with Lazada. The company also now offers deals and insurance product bundles to businesses.

According to Statista, the insurance penetration rate in the Philippines was only around 3.04 percent in 2019.
