Philippine Startup Week 2024 to Highlight Filipino Innovation and Global Potential
Filipino innovation is set to take center stage at the 6th Philippine Startup Week (PHSW24), scheduled for November 11-15, 2024. This annual event, which aims to foster a more resilient and globally competitive startup ecosystem, brings together key players from government, private sector, and non-profits to shape the future of Filipino startups. The theme for 2024 is "ISA Para sa Bayan: Igniting Filipino Innovation."
The week-long conference, which is anticipated to attract over 2,000 attendees and 150 speakers, features discussions and activities across multiple venues nationwide. Participants can look forward to sessions on funding strategies, the rise of women-led businesses, AI and emerging technologies, and the critical role of sustainability in modern innovation. By addressing these vital topics, PHSW24 aims to not only empower startups in the Philippines but also fortify the country's position as a leader in Southeast Asia's growing tech scene.

A Nationwide Celebration of Innovation and a Broader Vision for Southeast Asia
In addition to flagship events in Metro Manila, community-led events organized by groups like Villgro Philippines, TechInAsia, and Startup Village will take place nationwide, fostering local talent and collaboration. Through PHSW24, the organizers hope to strengthen innovation hubs in every region of the Philippines, supporting startups and empowering them with greater resources and networking opportunities.
This year, Philippine Startup Week aims to expand its impact by enhancing connections with startup leaders across Southeast Asia. "With funding investments for Filipino startups on the rise after the 'funding winter,' we are committed to empowering local entrepreneurs to make a significant impact in the region," said Usec Leah Buendia, DOST and Innovative Startup Act (ISA) Chairwoman. By creating a platform for regional collaboration, PHSW24 is positioned to set the stage for Philippine startups to thrive within the larger Southeast Asian ecosystem.
