Restaurateur Victor Vincent Villavicencio, more popularly known as Vic Vic, has died. He was 67. Senator Richard Gordon, a friend of the businessman, confirmed the passing in his tweets on Tuesday, April 30.

Villavicencio started in the food business with Kamayan Restaurant in 1977, making eating with one's hands an acceptable practice even outside of one's home. The restaurant preceded the establishment of the Triple V Group of Companies as Villavicencio went on to open a slew of different restaurant concepts and brands over the years, including Dads, Saisaki and Sambo Kojin. The brands differ in cuisines but all have a buffet set-up, earning Villavicencio the moniker of "Buffet King."

Recently, he opened Ogetsu Hime, an upscale Japanese restaurant.

Villavicencio is survived by his wife Maridel and their six children.
