In the two weeks leading up to Halloween, Mindanao was rocked with three earthquakes, all of which were recorded to be equal to or higher than 6.0 in magnitude. While the epicenter of the quakes were all located in the province of Cotabato, the strong tremors could be felt throughout most of the entire region of island. Now, the people of Mindanao are in need of relief goods to help them recover from the aftershock of the earthquakes, which have destroyed buildings, schools, and roads.

A lot of inspiring stories have already gone viral, urging others to follow in the footsteps of goodwill. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has donated P5 million from his own pocket to Coavato. Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced yesterday that his city government will be donating P14 million, as well as relief goods, to the victims of the Mindanao Quake. And even actress Angel Locsin has made headlines for going to Mindanao herself to buy and distribute relief goods for the people of Davao del Sur.

It will take weeks, perhaps even months and years, for Mindanao to recover from the damage caused by the earthquake, so they’ll need all the help they can get. Here are just a couple of things they need: clean drinking water, rice, packaged food (canned or sealed), clothes, hygiene products, diapers, milk formula, blankets, tents, sleeping mats (banig), mosquito nets, safety kits, medical equipment, and medicine.

Note: The province of Cotabato has banned distributing hot meals or packed foods to earthquake victims as a result of a food poisoning incident caused by donated packed meals. Thirty evacuees were brought to the hospital.

Here are a few organizations where you can send your donations and relief goods:
