Jeremy Renner Survived Getting Run Over by a 14,330-Pound Snowcat. Here’s What Went Down
Marvel actor Jeremy Renner is in stable condition after undergoing surgery as a result of getting run over by a snowplow on January 1. Just days after the incident, Renner took to Instagram to release his first statement and thank his fans for their concern.
“Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,” posted Renner along with a photo of him recovering in a hospital bed.
His costars and friends were quick to share their well wishes.
Thor actor Chris Hemsworth replied, “Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!” Meanwhile, Captain America star Chris Evans said, “Tough as nails. Love you buddy,” and Vision actor Paul Bettany replied, “Love you mate. Sending you love and healing.”
Avengers directors the Russo Brothers also chimed in, “Sending all of our love, brother, and hopes for a speedy recovery,” while Thor director Taika Waititi replied, “My brother I love you.”

What happened to Jeremy Renner?
According to the Washoe Country Sheriff's office in Nevada, they received a 9-1-1 call at 8:55 a.m. on January 1 regarding a pedestrian accident involving a Snowcat or Pisten Bully, a heavy-duty machine designed to clear roads of snow. The pedestrian in question turned out to be Jeremy Renner, who was conscious by the time first responders arrived on the scene.
Renner’s family member was driving one of his vehicles when it got stuck in the snow. To help him tow it, Renner went to retrieve his 14,330-pound Snowcat and successfully pulled out of the snow.
But when Renner got out of the Snowcat to talk to his family member, the Snowcat began to roll. The two tried to stop the vehicle, with Renner attempting to get into the driver’s seat.
“Based on our investigation, it is at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the Piston Bully,” said Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam. “We do not suspect any foul play, we believe this was a tragic accident.”
