Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte Gets Coronavirus

Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte has tested positive for COVID-19. In a post published on the Quezon City government Facebook page, Belmonte explained that parts of City Hall have been temporarily closed to undergo disinfection. 

According to Belmonte, the mayor is feeling well and has not experienced any symptoms. 

Despite practicing social distancing, washing her hands, and wearing a face mask, the mayor still managed to get COVID-19.

"Kaya sana ay magsilbi itong paalala na ang COVID-19 ay tunay na isang kakaibang sakit na dapat pag-ingatan pa nang lubusan," said Belmonte.

There are currently 46,333 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, with Quezon City accounting 3,420 cases.
