Office of the Vice President Raises P122 Million in Cash and Kind for COVID-19 Response
On Labor Day, Vice President Leni Robredo published a report on the progress of her COVID-19 response, and how the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has allocated the donations.
“As promised, we share with all of you a report on how far your generosity has gone, through the Kaya Natin donation drive and several other initiatives that we are doing for frontliners and communities in need,” said Robredo in a Facebook post.
So far, the OVP has received at least P122 million worth of assistance for frontliners and communities in need. Of the amount, P60 million was donated by Filipinos through the Kaya Natin donation drive.
With the help of these donations, the OVP has delivered more than 108,300 PPEs and served over 7,000 frontliners around the country. It has helped at least 945 health institutions and organizations across the country.
The OVP was also able to provide free lodging for frontliners at healthcare institutions, with 12 dormitories serving over 400 doctors, nurses, administrative personnel, and security staff, clerks, and bank tellers.
The Vice President also worked closely with 68 fashion designers and manufacturers to produce 5,375 PPE suits and gowns.
Apart from PPEs, the OVP has also procured and delivered thousands of medical supplies, including 19,000 sanitizers, 3,234 liters of rubbing alcohol, 12,840 face shields, 4,200 pairs of gloves, and 162 acrylic aerosol boxes used for intubation.
