Adidas' New Pair of Running Shoes Promises to Give 'More Boost'

With running becoming all the craze these days, sportswear brands are trying to keep up with the demand of all kinds of running wearables—from running shoes to watches. adidas, for their part, just unveiled the biggest redesign of the Ultraboost franchise since its debut in 2015. Ultraboost 5 is scheduled to drop at stores and online on July 18.

Adidas Ultraboost 5' Features

The Ultraboost 5 is built on the foundation of the acclaimed adidas Light Boost midsole, which provides exceptional energy return and cushioning with every step. This means that whether you're hitting the pavement for a morning run or navigating the urban jungle, your feet will feel supported and energized. Ultraboost 5 takes this technology further by having a re-engineered Light Boost midsole with an additional 9mm foam under the heel and forefoot. This allows for reduced weight, higher cushion, and 2% more forefoot energy return than the first iteration of the Ultraboost.

One of the standout features of the Ultraboost 5 is its adidas Primeknit upper. This material offers a snug, sock-like fit that adapts to the shape of your foot, providing both comfort and support. The Primeknit upper is flexible and breathable, ensuring that your feet stay cool and dry even during intense workouts. This attention to detail in the design makes the Ultraboost 5 a versatile shoe that can easily transition from the gym to the streets.

The Ultraboost 5 also incorporates a Stretchweb outsole, which adds an extra layer of flexibility to the shoe. This feature allows for natural foot movement, enhancing overall performance and reducing the risk of injury. Additionally, the torsion system integrated into the shoe provides lightweight stability, ensuring that your foot remains aligned and supported during various activities.

Colorways and Retail Price

The Ultraboost 5, which is retailing for P10,000, is available in either white or gray color base with the iconic three stripes in a darker shade of gray. A gradient of pink, orange, and yellow hues spring from the midsole as if giving a visual cue of the promised extra boost. This is the default "Spark Orange" colorway, which is available in stores, partner retailers, and online.

Colorways "Lucid Blue" and "Lucid Pink" are exclusively available online and at adidas stores.
