Boss Reinvents Power Dressing in S/S 26 Collection
At the historic Fonderia Macchi in Milan, with the monumental installation by Dutch artist Boris Acket “Aesthetics of Decay” as backdrop, Boss unveiled a show that was as much performance as it was presentation. With the “Boss Paradox” collection, the German house explored dualities—structure and chaos, precision and fluidity, control and freedo, order and disorder—and turned them into a new language of contemporary tailoring.
In the men’s collection, functionality and meets spontaneity. The familiar architecture of Boss tailoring—razor-sharp shoulders, sleek lapels, disciplined lines—has been loosened. Suits and jackets come in both single- and double-breasted forms, cut with clean precision but built for breathability and motion. The fabrics feel lighter, freer, as if the Boss man is no longer confined to the corporate world but stepping out into a broader, more creative one.

Trousers echo this release: wide-legged, straight, and often pleated for movement, they add volume without bulk. Outerwear takes on sculptural silhouettes—long coats and trench-inspired pieces with pleated backs or architectural folds. One highlight: a white leather jacket with pronounced shoulders and a cinched waist, paired with tuxedo trousers. Another: a floor-length chocolate lamb leather coat that blends masculine restraint with cinematic flair.

The contrasts came to life in the details: raw hems, asymmetrical seams, and fabrics that juxtaposed matte with gloss, rigid with soft. Silk and linen were spliced with technical wools; sheer layers revealed glimpses of what lay beneath. The result was precise but undone, minimalist yet expressive.

“Art is part of the history of the Boss brand. The legacy sparked our collaboration with a variety of talented and diverse artists,” says Marco Falcioni, creative director at Hugo Boss. “Within the collection, there are different layers of influence: those of design and architecture, and of contemporary dance—plus everything in between. The show is a tribute to creativity, and a further exploration of Boss’ relationship with the art world.”
