Look like a million bucks with the Ermenegildo Zegna x Maserati collab

Because one does not simply drive any Maserati.

You drive one styled by Ermenegildo Zegna—and by that we mean both the luxury car trim and your personal effects. It’s not just a matter of taste but of tribute: while the Maserati may belong to you, you also need to be worthy of its elegant craftsmanship…not look like the valet making off with the sweetest ride made in Italy (no offense to the flashy Fezza), or worse, a crash test dummy. Zegna is the kind of armor worn by men of power and influence like Tom Cruise and Benedict Cumberbatch. You couldn’t do any worse than to lock-in the tailoring of a celebrity vamp and a Sherlock, right?

Years of collaboration between Maserati and Zegna have resulted in masterpieces of steel and style. To celebrate the carmaker’s centennial anniversary in 2014, automotive design connoisseurs were presented with a limited-edition collection of 100 unique Maserati Quattroporte, sporting a platinum silk exterior, and a moka and greige interior done up in velvet-smooth fabrics and genuine soft leather. This was followed in 2015 by a co-designed special edition trim package for the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte, which is now also available in the new Levante SUV.

In homage to the spanking new Ghibli and Quattroporte, the matching SS17 Zegna-Maserati Capsule Collection provides a sartorial nudge that’s hard to ignore. There’s a devil-may-care badassery to it, reminiscent of the rascally motorcar drivers of the 1920s—those affluent hobbyists with their penchant for racing at break-neck speed and wearing loose clothing, silk scarves, racing gloves, and flat caps. The new wardrobe is a refined mixture of premium leather, fine silk, and cotton fabrics with the iconic chevron pattern (a cheeky wink at “street-style”), leather detailing, and a dedicated “Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati” label.

While some may balk at head-to-toe designer label, the collection is understated enough for you to get away with it. Check out the pieces here.

Picture yourself wearing the deerskin hybrid jacket over an off-white short-sleeve polo with the chevron pattern; luxury denim with rhuthenium Maserati hardware; and a pair of leather sneakers with the Maserati logo.

Top off the look with leather sunglasses plus a silk flat cap with and leather details. If it feels like a million bucks, that’s because the cost comes close. (Just kidding.)

Alternatively, you could just throw on a couple of choice pieces to punch up your wardrobe: a two-button cotton jacket with leather details and driver shoes with perforated uppers.

There’s also a leather trolley, whose memory foam structure protects it from impact, and a leather backpack with a chevron-patterned back.

Consider the accessories: driving gloves, travel wallet, passport case, and keychain. Don’t sweat it if people check you out before they even glance at your car. That just means you geared up right.
