Anthony Hopkins Looks Impossibly Cool (and Cozy) in the Latest Loewe Campaign
Loewe knows campaigns. To showcase its pre-fall 2022 collection, the Spanish fashion house tapped Saudi Arabian musician Alewya, American model Kaia Gerber, Japanese Paralympic athlete Maya Nakanishi, American sculptor Lynda Benglis, and—wait for it—Anthony Hopkins to model some of its newest pieces. It might seem like an odd group to some but that's the point. The brand wanted individuals of all ages to give a "pulsating tangibility to the Loewe prismatic identity."
Per the press release, the campaign uses "the spirit of each character, which in turn brings to life the energetic ethos of the Loewe pre-fall collection, a mix of athletic shapes, bold colors, wild textures, and sculpted physicality, with decisive outerwear as a signature."
Shot by Juergen Teller, the campaign was shot in different cities across the world. Hopkins poses in front of greenery wearing a coat and sweater with an Anagram Studs T tote in hand. While Gerber sits in a foam-filled bathtub, in the middle of the street, holding the Amazona 16 Square bag in her hand. Caroline Polachek, meanwhile, is pictured in a beauty parlor, with the Large Flamenco Clutch bag on her lap. Alewya models the Small Puzzle Edge bag between her legs, Josh O’Connor wears a sheepskin coat and the Anagram Tote bag, Lynda Benglis is seen with the Large Flamenco Clutch bag on the table.
