Montblanc's Latest Collection Is an Icy One (No, Not That Kind of Icy)
Towering at 15,774 feet above sea level, Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe. The mountain—nicknamed the 'Roof of Europe'—is a sight to behold, and that's exactly why it has been a source of inspiration for the German brand of the same name.
Aside from Montblanc's very name, the brand also took elements of the mountain for its six-point emblem and other designs. Now, the brand is once again drawing on the mountain's glaciers, iced lakes, and more with the Glacier Collection.
"Gazing into the depths of this Alpine ice is an incredible experience that we wanted to bring to our products, finding a creative way to create that same sense of awe and wonder. These pieces don't just emulate the aesthetic appeal of the icy texture but celebrate these glaciers and iced lakes by expressing the spirit of adventure the Mont Blanc inspires in everyone; a spirit that is core to Montblanc's own attitude towards exploration and the preservation of the great outdoors,” explains Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc creative director.
The collection is made up of the 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date watch, Meisterstück Selection Glacier leather goods and accessories, and Meisterstück Glacier writing instruments.
