Tom Holland Dresses (and Undresses) in Prada for the Label's Latest Campaign
Where does one head to following the success of a movie, like say Spider-Man: No Way Home? Prada, it seems. Late last week, we got a short look of Tom Holland undressing some Prada duds in a video. The whole thing was a delightful surprise (Holland's introduction to the Prada universe, that is) but the actor didn't stop there.
For its latest campaign, the Italian fashion house Prada tapped Tom Holland as its star. Shot by David Sims, the actor performs as himself—at least according to the release. "The power of acting is to draw on a well of personal experience to convey a mood, an emotion and feeling that, while fiction, borrows its fact from the performer’s own humanity," Prada said. "These images cement minute actions and reactions, close and gentle moments—the rapport between garment and body, gestures of dressing and undressing alive within the imagery. Instead of a cinematic panorama, Holland is portrayed via portraits, intimate and real."
Styled in a selection of the brand's printed shirts, thick knits, and a statement leather jacket, Holland wears pieces from the label's spring/summer 2022 collection. And he looks every bit a Prada man.
Prada has been big on performers lately. Jeff Goldblum and Kyle MacLachlan just an appearance at the label's autumn/winter 2023 show for Milan Fashion Week. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons took "theatre and cinema as mirrors of reality", according to the show notes, which created a world in which "everyday reality is valorized."
With Prada done and over, what's next for Tom Holland? More Spidey? It's been shut down. James Bond? Probably not. We can only guess.
