In the entertainment industry, no one dares question Sharon Cuneta's “Megastar” status. Cuneta’s name cannot easily be written off in the pages of showbiz history for her contributions in the industry—her box office hits, sold-out concerts, top-rating television shows, and an endless list of product endorsements.

Cuneta wasn’t bragging when she told a reporter, “Bilyonarya na ako sa sariling pera ko, matagal ko nang nalagpasan ang yaman ng mga magulang ko. Long before TV5, diyos ko, meron na ako niyan!”

(“I’m a billionaire in my own right, I have long surpassed the wealth of my parents. Long before TV5, my god, I was rich before then!”)

On May 14, 2017, Cuneta posted about her billionaire status on Facebook. “I owe so much money (on very good investments, not stupid stuff) and I have NO ONE IN THE WORLD TO HELP ME. I am probably the poorest, most cash-strapped billionaire you know!”

In her guesting on Tonight with Boy Abunda in June 2017, Cuneta once again shard details about her financial status. “I am so sorry. I don’t mean to brag, but I’m not bankrupt. I have been a billionaire since before I married Kiko [Pangilinan].”

Then, on May 5, 2020, Cuneta couldn’t hold back tears as she expressed her sympathy for employees of ABS-CBN who were affected by the order of the National Telecommunications Commission to shut down the network.

Tapos yung staff namin mismo at crew, sila yung mawawalan ng trabaho. Ako, okey lang, alam niyo naman lahat, bilyonarya na ako [laughs]. Okey na ako pero sila…”

(“The staff and crew are the ones who will lose their jobs. As for me, I’m fine because you all know I’m a billionaire.”)

On May 12, 2020, Cuneta snapped at a basher who questioned the P2.3 million worth of donations she received for her Mother’s Day fundraiser, Love and Music Sharon: A Mother’s Day Special.

“Where (sic) you going to put the donation in your account,” said the basher.

Cuneta put him in his rightful place with “No, thank you. I'm a billionaire. I don't need to take money from anyone. But I do help. Do you?”

Cuneta vows to hunt down man who threatened to rape daughter.

In a lengthy post on social media, Cuneta vowed to use all her resources to hunt down the man who threatened to rape her 19-year-old daughter Frankie Pangilinan on social media.

“Pasalamat ka iha, kung ang edad ko 12 years, magtago ka na sa tatay mong Senador Kiko Matsing Pangilinan dahil hahanapin kita para gahasain. Tapos sisihin mo tatay mo dahil hindi ako makukulong,” said the man.

(“If I were a 12 year old, you’d better hide behind your father Senator Kiko Pangilinan because I will hunt you and rape you. You can blame your father because I will not be imprisoned.”)

Below are Cuneta’s statement on the issue.

At the moment, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is already tracking the man who threatened to rape Pangilinan.

According to the DOJ, Cuneta appears to have successfully tracked the location of the man, including the name and address of his employer.

“If she files a criminal complaint with the DOJ, we will verify the respondent’s identity and address for the purpose of giving him notice,” said DOJ secretary Menardo Guevarra.
