This Fan Relives TWICE's 'Snacktacular' Surprise, Meet-and-Greet

Eyes wide open, getting ready for one of the greatest moments of my life, car keys dangling from my right belt loop, "Feel Special" blasting through my Airpods Max, feeling every feeling I know in every second, every minute, and every hour of this godforsaken life knowing that I’m going to see one of the biggest musicians in the world, up until I actually see them. And then, there they were—TWICE, in the flesh. Dubbed as the nation’s girl group, and right in front of me, fancy-to-a-t, with words that are not even in my normal vocabulary flooding my mind a thousand and one per minute, I gasped and tried to contain myself. As a Once, the group’s fandom name, that was not an easy task.

This was my second time seeing them. The first time was back in September of 2023, during their second visit here. They weren’t complete then; Chaeyoung couldn’t go due to her health reasons. But, the group’s complete now at the "O, Wow O, Wow" fan meet day at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last June 1. It was organized by local snack brand Oishi.

All nine of them, shining brighter than ever—Nayeon, Jihyo, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. How glorious the sight was. I could not simply articulate or paint through the limited words I know of what I have seen and experienced that day. But I’ll do my best.

The "snacktacular" afternoon was filled with unending cheers, and none of the jeers, because not one in attendance was an anti—Everyone, old and new, vibrant and full of You-th, was a fan of the ever-loved group. At the same time, TWICE answered questions with gusto. They just loved the vibe of the whole place, and who wouldn’t? You wouldn’t need a scientist to formulate the love and care they received at that wonderful moment.

Throughout the event, the nine equally lovely members of TWICE showed how charming and playful they were. Games and hearts were played, but not one audience member was heartbroken. Every person there was just enamored by how enchanting these nine girls were. I would not blame anyone there if they lost their rhythm during the moment because, again, who wouldn’t? It was just a captivating afternoon spent with an immensely loved group, not just by everyone here and in South Korea, but dare I say, the whole world. It wasn’t some fake, shallow adoration. It was true and deep, and I’m honored to have been part of such a wonderful moment.

"We love that we have another opportunity to meet Filipino Onces, and be introduced to more snacks, thanks to Oishi," Nayeon says during the final moments of the event. And yes, who else to thank than Oishi for this bewitching gathering of everything TWICE and yummy snacks? It was a "One in a Million" day, and I would not have had it any other way. 

I might have an answer to the ever-growing question in song format adorably sung in “What is Love?,” and that is them—TWICE.
