Subsequently, Mister Donut's management confirmed the closure in a response to an email from blogger Eli Villagonzalo, who sought verification of the reports.

"MD Greenhills will be closing its doors along with other tenants in the area to give way to the redevelopment of Greenhills Shopping Center," the letter read.

Based on the flurry of comments across various posts, it's clear that the particular Mister Donut branch was more than just a beloved spot for local joggers and cyclists; it also served as a venue for meetings.

One netizen reminisced, "My former boss used to take his morning coffee and hold weekly Monday staff meetings there 32 years ago. He would buy us coffee and donuts. That is how I learned to drink and love black coffee."

The same employee looked back with nostalgia on the practices of the donut shop. "During my tenure, after 2 AM, as the donuts reached their expiration or what was referred to as 'T.A.', they were sold to us, the employees, at 50 centavos per donut."

The donut shop also served as a go-to spot for college students working on their thesis, "back in the day when they had 24-hr service, really cold a/c and good lighting."
