To Get a Better Night's Rest, Start by Getting a Better Mattress
Humans spend about a third of their lives sleeping, but few of us ever give a second thought to the quality of sleep we’re getting. The benefits of a good night’s rest are well-documented: better performance academically, lower levels of stress, and overall better health.
Of course, good sleep starts with good sleeping habits. And a good bed, which of course is tied to a good quality mattress. Globally, the mattress industry was estimated to be worth a whopping $39.4 billion in 2021 and it’s only expected to grow at around 6.2 percent annually until 2030. Small wonder, then, that mattress makers are constantly coming up with innovations to offer better and better products to ensure customers get the best sleep of their lives.

That was the point of a unique event highlighting the exceptional quality of a familiar name in the mattress industry. Tempur, is a company born out of research by scientists at NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in the U.S., initially to develop a material that would cushion aircraft seats and improve survivability in the event of an accident. Of course, since then, the brand has become synonymous with the best in mattress innovations.
The set-up at the Tempur event
To demonstrate the quality of its all new Tempur Pro line, the brand invited guests to the Power Mac Spotlight Events Place, where actual beds were prepared for them to lay down on instead of the usual tables and chairs. Guests were then able to actually test out the difference of a Tempur mattress. And if you’re used to the feel of a regular mattress, a Tempur one is nothing short of revolutionary.
Officials said this new Tempur Pro line features a 20 percent increase in pressure relief, thanks to a proprietary Tempur Advanced material. It also has what the brand calls a SmartCool cover feature that helps regulate sleeping climate, turning the temperature as much as 75 percent lower than the brand’s standard cover.
All the Tempur beds can be operated by remote control, so guests could raise or lower the top half or bottom half of the bed, depending on their comfort level. Guests were also provided snacks as they watched a performance by improv group Silly People’s Improv Theater (SPIT) and the music of Extrapolation.

“We aimed to create an event that not only showcases the innovation behind Tempur's new Pro mattress collection but also delivers an immersive experience that resonates with our guests,” said Mayen Yuzon, Senior Business Manager of Tempur. “Through unscripted entertainment, exceptional music, and innovative products, we aimed to redefine the notion of comfort.”
“Tempur's success isn't just the mattress technology, it's the culmination of the profound experiences of our esteemed Tempur owners,” said Stephen Sy, president of Focus Global Inc, which distributes Tempur in the country. “Their satisfaction resonates as our foundation. Word-of-mouth endorsement amplifies this narrative, making the Tempur mattress more than a transaction—but definitely an investment in well-being.”
