The Top Memes that Dominated 2019

Everybody knows that Filipinos are fluent in speaking with memes. For every national news, whether good or bad, there is always some witty Filipino who takes it upon him or herself to make a meme out of the situation. Here are some of the best memes that dominated every Filipino’s timeline in 2019.

1| Baby Yoda

Baby Yoda is unquestionably the cutest Disney character of all time. Its few appearances in The Mandalorian are enough to launch a million memes of the 50-year-old Force-sensitive creature. There are no rules on how to use the images of Baby Yoda as memes. The meme is often used with text to depict various situations with Baby Yoda as the subject.

2| Mimiyuuuh’s Dalagang Pilipina Pose

Perhaps the next cutest thing after Baby Yoda is Mimiyuuuh. Her Dalagang Pilipina pose helped propel her to Internet superstardom.

The meme is typically used as a response to someone’s challenge or dare, depicting your facial expression just as you’re about to take on the challenge.

3| Woman vs Cat Meme

The woman yelling at a cat that looks innocent and defensive is one of the most adorable and funniest memes of 2019.

Basically, the cat is just being a jackass by deliberately annoying the woman with his answers.

4| You Do Note

This phrase-turned-meme gained popularity after a video of a girl nicknamed Majo went viral in April. In the video, she reenacts mash-up scenes from the TV drama Kadenang Ginto.

5| Literally No One

According to Know Your Meme, the Literally No One meme is a simple meme used as a phrasal template to mock people who strive to attract attention and tend to provide unsolicited opinions, as well as for observational humor.

It has spawned millions of memes, including several upgrades to its looks. It even made it to national TV.
