Drag Race Philippines Is Back… And So Are the Hilarious Fan Tweets

Drag Race Philippines is back, back, back, back again, and hotter than ever, henny. The second season of the show premiered yesterday, August 2, on HBO Go and WOW Presents Plus Worldwide, and the first episode only left fans wanting more.

The new season features a much more diverse cast, with contestants coming from different areas in the country and the world. Showrunners heard the call for more regional drag representation, and they listened, alright. Gracing the revamped werkroom this season are 12 queens—Arizona Brandy, Astrid Mercury, Bernie, Captivating KatKat, DeeDee Marié Holliday, Hana Beshie, M1ss Jade So, Matilduh, Nicole Pardaux, ØV C*nt, Tiny Deluxe, and Veruschka Levels.

Considering how well-received season one was, these new queens sure have some big shoes to fill. But who’s worried about that? If the first episode is any indication, then the season two cast is set to deliver not only charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, but also drama. In fact, when asked what word they would use to describe the season during their premiere night, one of the answers given was just that—“drama.” There was also “controversial,” “iconic,” and “transformative.” That sounds a hell of a lot like good TV.

But of course, all the excitement from fans also comes with a healthy level of criticism. Only one episode is out but some are already pointing out the areas of improvement, particularly in terms of post-production.
