Henry Cavill is no ordinary man. This is the guy who played Superman in the DC Extended Universe and recently, the monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, in The Witcher. And even if he didn’t portray these famous roles, Cavill is a man with a perfect face and god-tier body. Stare into his eyes and you might just pee yourself

In the Age of Isolation, he’s proving once again that he’s a man above the rest. While most of us are sinking into despair, with a bag of salty chips in one hand and the wireless mouse, our only friend, in the other, he’s been bettering himself with a series of activities.

Most recently, Cavill assembled a PC from scratch. And before that, he taught himself how to make bread. And before that, he’s was painting miniatures. In short, while most of us have turned the lockdown into an excuse to devolve into shut-ins, Cavill decided to become a proper geek who knows how to bake and cook. Here's what he's been up to:

Henry Cavill built a PC during the lockdown.

It’s been established that Cavill is a gamer. When director Zach Snyder rang him up about Superman, the actor missed the call because he was playing World of Warcraft. “I had my priorities straight,” he said in an interview on the Conan O’Brien show. Now that he has more time on his hands, Cavill has gotten around to leveling up his gamer status by building his own rig.

In a five-minute Instagram video, set against the sensuous melodies of Barry White’s “You’re The First, The Last, My Everything,” Cavill shows us the frustrations and triumphs of building your own (high-spec) PC. Here he is lovingly connecting the whozits to the whatzits. And here he is reading the manual over and over again, looking slightly confused but very determined. And then here’s the sunset and a new day and another night and another new day. It took a while.

Finally, Cavill finishes and boots up the system, only to find out that he installed a display upside down. It takes another day to redo the whozits and whatzits and get things just how he wants it. The gamer played first, of course (probably WoW or Total Warhammer 2). Watch the clip below. This is all very relatable.

Henry Cavill learned how to bake and cook during the lockdown.

Before the PC, there was the bread and roast. Cavill's food series started with what he calls the isolation loaf (a mammoth bread with a snowy top) and progressed to other super-sized food.

There’s the isolation roast, the Isolamento Italiano (maybe it’s lasagna?), the cheesy piesolation, the icing isolation (a red velvet cake), and finally, the isolation lamb. The last one was posted on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in Europe and also Mother’s Day. Cavill knows you should make good food for celebrations.

Henry Cavill pursued a long-time hobby, miniature wargaming.

“If you were in denial about me being a geek before, you can't hide from it now,” said the actor in his caption for this hobby. Aside from PC gaming and his new kitchen adventures, Cavill likes miniature wargaming, particularly the ones by Games Workshop. Think of the minis as tiny virtual models of units.

Cavill sees this time of crisis as a window for rebirth, and so he decided to actively pursue something that he has only been watching from the sidelines. From painting a baby helmet to building a PC, the actor, superhero, the monster hunter, and the geek found a way to turn the grim situation into something positive. What have you done lately?
