Keanu Reeves Having Fun on a Horse is the Next Great Meme of the Keanusance

Let's take a look back through recent months of the Keanusance: Keanu plays himself in Always Be My Maybe, Keanu wraps filming on Bill & Ted Face the Music, Keanu announces he's resurrecting Neo in Matrix 4, Keanu gets deepfaked as a little girl on Sesame Street… ah! Here’s a new one. Keanu playing around on a horse while filming John Wick Chapter 3.
It takes some work to keep up on the Keanusance. But alas, we’re in the middle of it, and the latest report from his orbit is worth seeing. In a new bonus look at John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum, we get a behind-the-scenes look at that killer horse chase sequence. Keanu did most of the stunt work himself—going to train at a farm, throwing on a puffer vest jacket, and becoming a pretty proficient horse-rider in the filming process. Because of course.
“The thing I like about him the most is: He has a lot of respect for the animals,” says a member of the production team. “He learned all the different horses.” The team goes on to explain that Reeves was so good at horse-riding that they taught him how to do tricks—which is how he learned how to hang off the side of a horse, as he does in the film.
Awe. John Wick is a softie. Make sure you get to about 50 seconds of the video, so you can see the birth of a meme: Keanu saddled up, hair flowing from under a helmet, yelling beautiful, excited nonsense: “I wanna come in that speed, and then just go KA-BAH!”
Here's a GIF of that for your own personal use:
