Nick Fury Is Up For 'One Last Fight' in Secret Invasion's First Trailer
Superhero fatigue is real. After all the content Marvel churned out after Avengers: Endgame, the studio took a short break to give fans a breather from the host of superhero movies and shows they were churning out. Phase Four of the MCU was a rollercoaster of content as Marvel doubled down on its long-form series content and put out blockbuster after blockbuster. But Phase Five looks like it might be a slow burn and it’s utilizing the MCU’s best hero in its arsenal. And no, it’s not Point Break. We’re talking about Nick—[redacted]—Fury.

Space, conspiracies, and Samuel L. Jackson—The MCU is going back to basics with its espionage thriller Secret Invasion. Disney+ just dropped the first look at the series, and we’re freaking hyped. Nick Fury is finally getting the solo series he deserves.
Secret Invasion follows Fury as he discovers the “secret invasion” of Earth by a faction of Skrulls. And these aren’t the good Skrulls we met in Captain Marvel—we’re talking about the Skrulls threatening humanity. Fury teams up with MCU vets Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos to fight them off.
Samuel L. Jackson, aka “The Great Nick Fury”, will star alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, and Don Cheadle. Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman will also be making their anticipated MCU debut.
Get ready for “one last fight” from Nicky Fury. Directed by Ali Salem, Secret Invasion premieres on Disney+ on June 21.
