Stop Whatever You're Doing and Watch This Insane RC Cola Ad

We've seen a fair share of weird commercials in our lifetime. Some (read: MOST) from Japan, and some from the Philippines. Who could forget Max's viral commercials? We have to say, however, that this new one from RC Cola Philippines is somewhere at the top.
Don't believe us? Well, believe Twitter which doesn't really understand what's going on in this commercial. The viral ad has even drawn comparisons to Japanese commercials, GMA's Alakdana, and even Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis.
Let's recap.
The commercial starts off in a dramatic tone as we see a boy come home from school.

He frantically asks his mom if he's adopted.

She asks him why he'd even think that.

But, she reassures him.

He asks again... and here's where the crazy starts.

What. Is. Going. On.

It doesn't stop there, of course.

As someone that knows about The Green Ribbon, we had an idea of what was coming...

The Green Ribbon tells the story of a girl named Jenny who wears a ribbon around her neck. Spoiler alert: the ribbon was keeping her head in place as she was decapitated and obviously undead.
...that doesn't mean we found this any less weird, though.

What else is there to do but pour a cold one on your adopted son's back. (????!)

What a wild ride.
What does it mean? Why? Why?
RC Cola has one explanation: "Basta!" We're obviously being trolled. If you missed it, the ad is titled "[email protected]!!!! Basta RC Cola!" on YouTube. Well played, RC Cola.
We're confused. Twitter is confused. But, the internet is also very amused (and mildly concerned for whoever created this concept).
