Your first look at the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer
The much-awaited official trailer for Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has finally arrived, with Tom Holland filling in the Spandex for Peter Parker and swinging right into Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. In this latest reboot of the franchise, we pick up where we saw him last, fumbling his way through high school, accidentally revealing his identity, possibly divining strategic methods on joining The Avengers. We see him go up against a frighteningly effective villain in Michael Keaton's Vulture, who threatens to kill everyone Peter loves.
Nobody needs any further introduction to our favorite web-slinger, but since his show-stealing appearance in Captain America: Civil War earlier this year, anticipation for the slightest glimpse of the Spider-Man: Homecoming—not to mention the Easter Eggs planted in the trailer, ready to be scouted by omniscient fans—has been at a feverish high, and the stakes have only sailed higher with every movie that has preceded the character. All the groundwork has already been set, the kerfuffle between the studios settled into an arrangement that pleases everybody involved. Now we're all waiting to see how the movie switches things up with a diverse cast of characters and a beloved character in a universe that has only gotten bigger. Between this and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it's a good time to be a fan of superhero movies in this ever-expanding, newfangled world.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey, Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark, Zendaya, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Hannibal Burress, and more.
