Looks Like They Enhanced Voltes V's CGI in the Revamped Teaser Trailer

Three years ago on January 1, 2020, GMA released the very first teaser for the live-action Voltes V series to be produced in the Philippines. Our beloved jaeger looked pretty badass, and our expectations were high. 

Voltes V looks quite badass in the 2022 trailer that was released on Christmas Day. We absolutely love how the animators enhanced the details on the body. Take a look at the following stills captured from the revamped teaser:

As you can see, the creative and design team decided to put segmentation on Voltes V's torso where the abs should be. This is a realistic design for flexibility and maneuverability.

Zooming in on Voltes V's blue-plated chest, we see how the animators chose to pepper this area with detail: Are those welding marks we see on the breastplate? Are those peeling paint on his forearms? 

But look at the brackets on his belt, which form part of Voltes V's array of 10 weapons: the Ultra Electromagnetic Top. The style and design of this particular weapon are more fascinating in Voltes V: Legacy because it seems the animators decided to make it look like a spinal column. 

Overall, Voltes V looks heavily segmented. They even took particular care animating the joints in the hands, which need to be incredibly dexterous, even for a jaeger like Voltes V. 

Voltes V: Legacy will finally air on GMA 7 in 2023.
