Filipino-British indie music darling beabadoobee is heading back to the Philippines to play a show here in August. According to a post on her website and social media posts from concert promoter Live Nation, the artist will perform at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on August 12, 2025. 

Based on ticket prices publisehd by Live Nation, Balcony ticket prices at the New Frontier Theater for her show start at P1,750 to P2,750, Loge prices at P3,750, Floor B Standing will cost P4,550 and while Floor A Standing are at P5,550.

The indie artsit's last show in Manila was on September 16, 2022 as part of her Beatopia world tour. Other stops in her Asian tour this year include Singapore (August 4), Thailand (August 6), Taiwan (August 9), and Japan (August 12).

Beatrice Kristi Laus, who was born in Iloilo City, is under the UK indie record label Dirty Hit. Her music blew up in 2019 after alternative 90s indie rock nostalgia cuts such as "I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus," "Care," and "Worth It." A cover she released of "Moon Song" by Karen O from the sci-fi AI romance film Her (2013) and her original song "Coffee" also led to her music garnering viral online attention over the past few years.

The 24-year-old artist has previously cited the late indie-folk legend Elliot Smith (much like her contemporary Phoebe Bridgers), Mac DeMarco, and Mazzy Star as some of her influences.

In March this year, she put out a cover of Australian cult-classic "Sway" by Bic Runga, which some may call an honorary OPM track as it continues to dominate local playback airwaves and karaoke machines at the most ungodly hours.

“She makes very good melancholy music, especially in the time where the youth was kind of aimless during the pandemic,” Josh, a 26-year-old diehard beabadoobee fan, said after the announcement. “I plan on watching her because she's a phenomenal artist who is also very gorgeous.”

1| "Pictures of Us"

This melancholy-driven track from her Beatopia record, which has Matty Healy from the 1975’s DNA all over it, is a meteoric track with a crescendo and chorus that just sticks with you: “She reminded me that God starts with a capital, but I don’t think I could do it,” beabadoobee sings over almost American Football-esque mid-western emo guitar riffs through the track

“It’s so open to interpretation. To me personally, it means someone that you truly, truly admire, but not being able to be on the same page. But you’re trying to be,” she said in an interview with Apple Music.

2| "If You Want To"

This cut from her 2018 record Patched Up is the quintessential song to familiarize yourself with her early moody rock sound as she sings about dealing with sleep paralysis and anxiety. The track is produced by alternative singer-songwriter Oscar Lang and Joseph Rodgers.

“People kinda have the perception that it’s a love song, but it’s not. It’s just how I can’t sleep at night. And also, sleep paralysis is terrifying and every time you get it you feel like you can’t escape, ” she said in a Genius interview in 2019.

3| "Animal Noises"

A nostalgic and poignant song from her third EP Our Extended Play also produced by Matty Healy and George Daniel from The 1975, will make you miss your entire childhood and dread getting older or growing up, with hypnotic 90s rock and country fusion that could fit into any coming-of-age movie. “I just need someone to hold but I guess that I’m getting too old, It’s something I keep getting told," beabadoobee sings. 

4| "One Time"

In this multi-layered alternative rock cut from her latest 2024 LP This is How Tomorrow Moves, Bea tells an emotional story about looking back on a partner who wasn’t all in their relationship, and didn’t really fight for their bond to work out. The crescendo build-up, which has been a beabadoobee staple, resolves into a 90s-flavor distorted guitar solo.

5 | "Glue Song"

An earnest love song accompanied by her unique thumb-strummed full-bodied acoustic guitar has gotten hundreds and millions of streams and for good reason. The adorable metaphor of getting stuck to someone like glue could serve as an anthem for the lovesick and lovestruck in blossoming new relationships. Another bonus is that the music video for the track was filmed in her hometown of Iloilo featuring scenes of her crooning in jeepneys, tricycles, and a basketball court.

6 | "She Plays Bass" 

A tribute to Bea's bassist and close friend Eliana, who actually plays in her band, the groovy alt-rock track has an unsuprisingly prominent bass line and Sonic Youth-sounding lead guitar work. Bea gushes over her priceless friendship and even getting lost in space when they make records and play shows. The soaring symphony of this alt-rock track will make your head bob and bang, especially when the bass line up crescendo transitions into the chrorus-effect fueled electric guitar melodies.
