Filipino-British Artist Beabadoobee Is Set to Play in Manila for the First Time Ever

It's a homecoming of sorts for the the Fil-Brit phenomenon.

It’s exciting to hear news of Filipino acts changing the way we listen to music globally. The likes of Beatrice Kristi also known as beabadoobee, have influenced a number of musicians who are looking to push the envelope in pop and rock music as a whole. 

On Monday (August 1), LiveNation Philippines announced beabadoobee’s Asia Tour is landing in Manila on September 16, 2022. Everyone from your 40-year old rock millennial to Gen-Z pop fan is beyond excited to hear about the homecoming of one of London’s best acts to come out in recent memory.

The 22-year-old London-based singer-songwriter helped pave the way for heavy-strung guitar music when she released her “Space Cadet” EP, which also launched hit singles “She Plays Bass” and “I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus.” The next year she released her debut album “Fake It Flowers”, spawning even more singles like “Care” and “Sorry.” 

Her single "Coffee" was also sampled by American artist Powfu on his massive hit single "Death Bed."

The dreamy follow-up of “Our Extended Play” was stylistically different from her releases before it, shifting from baggy alternative-rock to noisy pop music. Her latest release “Beatopia” was named after her childhood doodles, bringing more color to her musical style in different lengths. beabadoobee’s entire discography will definitely forge a different era of rock music in Manila when she comes here next month.

Tickets for BEATOPIA TOUR 2022 LIVE IN MANILA are on sale from 10 August (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. onwards. Live Nation PH Members Pre-sale on 9 August (Tuesday), 10AM - 11:59PM. The concert is set to take place at New Frontier Theater on 16 September 2022.
