Here's How Much Money Your Favorite Music Artists Make Off of Spotify

Listening to music stirs the mind and senses. Some people think of their loved ones while listening to memorable songs, while some people's thoughts are amplified with music. Then there's us... who think of how much money artists make from Spotify. Don't lie, it's probably crossed your mind, too.
Thankfully, we can stop wondering as Money.co.uk's new study uncovers revenue of each artist in the top 25 charts. What's crazy is that several artists were able to earn millions from a single song. Case in point: Billie Eilish.
"In 2019, Eilish released her biggest hit to date, Bad Guy, raking in over 1.6 billion streams on Spotify and earning her a healthy sum of £5.2 million ($7.1 million) from just one song," the study said.
Artist | Songs | Streams | Revenue |
Billie Eilish | 1 | 1,647,401,812 | $7.2 million |
Lewis Capaldi | 1 | 759,189,614 | $3.3 million |
Post Malone | 1 | 1,346,659,198 | $5.9 million |
Jason Derulo | 2 | 836,504,281 | $3.7 million |
Eminem | 3 | 488,191,919 | $2.1 million |
Ariana Grande | 4 | 3,586,279,067 | $15.7 million |
Cardi B | 4 | 1,400,179,702 | $6.1 million |
Ellie Goulding | 4 | 2,008,710,314 | $8.8 million |
Sam Smith | 6 | 3,824,212,628 | $16.7 million |
As far as revenue goes, however, the artist who earned the highest amount was Drake with $89.9 million. But, the study says, despite Drake's God's Plan accumulating 1.67 billion streams, he only earned $7.3 million.
Still, that's a lot of zeroes.
