Are the IV of Spades Getting Back Together?
Hey, Barbara! The IV of Spades (as the quartet) are hanging out again these days. So are we going to see more of that '70s disco-new-wave pop flair again? It wouldn't be such a bad idea.
The four were spotted at the Eraserheads reunion rehearsals recently. In a photo shared by concert director Paolo Valenciano, we can see Zild Benitez, Blaster Silonga, Badjao De Castro, and Unique Salonga sitting cozy with each other. This comes nearly five years since Salonga left to pursue a solo career, and roughly two years since the trio of Benitez, Silonga, and De Castro announced the band's "indefinite hiatus." They've also been spotted by fans at other venues the past few weeks.
At the time, the band declared: "We will be busy pursuing some other personal interests and take a needed time off as a band. There are no plans to release anything or perform for the time being... There are more things out there that we should pay attention to and remember that living itself is a blessing."

The band rose to superstardom with hits like “Ilaw sa Daan,” "Mundo," and “Where Have You Been My Disco?” among others. During the pandemic, they released their last single "Sariling Mundo."
Benitez, Silonga, and Salonga have each released their own solo albums since the bandmates went their separate ways. They've been pretty successful, too. Recently, Benitez released his third album called Medisina last October, with tracks like "Duda" and "Isang Anghel." Silonga, on the other hand, made his solo debut with My Kosmik Island Disk. Meanwhile, Salonga previously churned out hits like "Sino," "Midnight Sky," and "Bukod-Tangi," among others.
Last September, a music video for their song "Black & White" was released as the theme music for the superhero high school drama Ero.
Valeciano, however, stressed that the former bandmates just crossed paths, apparently. They were just watching the rehearasls, he said. But hey, it's not like they'd announce it this way, right? The speculation continues.
