God Decided to Bless Us With a New Taylor Swift Album in 2022 Because We're Down Bad

So that's why Taylor Swift has been awfully quiet lately (well, by her standards). In a welcome twist to 2022, the pop icon just announced the upcoming release of her next album Midnights in an epic Video Music Awards (VMAs) acceptance speech (plus, on the 13th anniversary of the infamous Kanye West "imma let you finish—" rant). What a night.

Yes, a quiet year for Taylor Swift means bagging video of the year, best long-form video, and best direction for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)" at the VMAs at the same time. No surprises here, folks. She's the most hardworking artist in the industry, after all.

The real shocker at the ceremony, however, was teasing us all with what would be Swift's first album since Evermore back in 2020. We can't believe it's been two years since, too.
