Here's Your Fête de la Musique 2022 Starter Pack

Back (live!) like it never left.

Fete de la Musique is finally going live again, folks, and it's going to be pretty wild. This time, the  festival's freshest and most diverse lineup of artists are going to cities all over the Philippnes, including stages in Palawan, Baguio, Cebu, and Siargao.

“We’re excited to bring the Fête de la Musique celebrations back to the beautiful places of the Philippines,” Alliance Francaise de Manille Executive Director Xavier Leroux. “This year’s special will be all about French-Filipino collaborations.”

The free music event, which is celebrated in 130 countries worldwide, has offered a generous French-Filipino cross-cultural exchange for close to 40 years. The theme of Fete de la Musique 2022 is “Tara Allez!” or “let’s go!” Cool use of Filipino and French colloquialism, right?

This year's Fete also coincides with the 75th anniversary of Franco-Filipino relations. French artists, such as Marc Fichel, DJ Blutch, and Maxime Cozic, and local acts like the Itchyworms, Lola Amour, Anima Tierra, and Cheats will be headlining the festival.

Fête de la Musique 2022's main stage will be at the Puerta Real Gardens, Intramuros on June 25, and will include some of the aforementioned performers. Surprise guests should also be expected. There will be stages opening up this week at Siargao, Sofitel Manila in Pasay, Cebu, Baguio, and Palawan.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, June 21: Siargao Island Stage
  • Thursday and Friday, June 23 and 24: Sofitel Manila
  • Friday, June 24: Makati Pocket Stages
  • Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26: Cebu Island Stages
  • Sunday, June 26, Baguio Island Stages
  • Sunday and Tuesday, June 26 and 28: Palawan Island Stages

Fete de la Musique partnered with Lokal Lab for the Siargao Stage in Santa Fe Beachfront Playground, Kalye Artisano x Lio Estate for the El Nido Stages in Kalye Artisano, and Melt Records x Alliance Francaise de Cebu for the Cebu Stages in Draft Punk and in La Vie. These groups will present the event's virtual #FeteFromMyIsland streaming.
