These Stunning Photos Were Taken Using an iPhone

Sometimes it’s not just about the equipment, it’s also about the skill.
Ten iPhone users proved this can be applied to photography too, as Apple Inc. announced the winners of the Shot on iPhone Challenge 2019.
The American multinational tech company launched the competition from January to February 2019 and asked for photo entries entirely shot on iPhones from all over the world. From these, a panel of judges selected 10 of the most outstanding photos that perfectly capture remarkable moments from all over the world. (Apple has been doing this since 2007)
The winners used some of Apple’s latest models. Four used an iPhone XS Max, which was only released in September 2018. Two winners each used iPhones XS and 7, while one each used an iPhone X and an iPhone 8 Plus.
The following photos were chosen among thousands of entries from countries all over the world. Six of the winners came from the United States, while one each were from Singapore, Belarus, Israel, and Germany.
Alex Jiang (US), iPhone XS Max
Blake Marvin (US), iPhone XS
Darren Soh (Singapore), iPhone XS
Nikita Yarosh (Belarus), iPhone 7
Dina Alfasi (Israel), iPhone X
Elizabeth Scarrott (US), iPhone 8 Plus
Andrew Griswold (US), iPhone XS
Bernard Antolin (US), iPhone XS
LieAdi Darmawan (US), iPhone XS
Robert Glaser (Germany), iPhone 7
Like the winners, the professionals who judged the competition also came from all over the world.
Pete Souza, the famous White House photographer during US President Obama’s administration, led the panel of judges. Joining him were seven other photographers, most of whom also practice mobile photography: Austin Mann, Annet de Graaf, Luísa Dörr, Chen Man, Brooks Kraft, Jon McCormack, and Arem Duplessis. Three Apple executives completed the group: Phil Schiller, Kaiann Drance, and Sebastien Marineau-Mes.
Apple will feature these stunning photos on billboards in select cities, as well as on their retail and online stores.
