UP Cebu Now Offers Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence
Amid the global debate on the various issues surrounding artificial intelligence (AI)—ethical dilemmas, environmental impacts, labor market disruption, security risks—the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Engineering is proactively addressing the demand for skilled and responsible AI professionals.
The institution has announced that it is offering a Master of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence (MEng AI) program at the UP Cebu Campus starting August 2025.
The MEng AI program is a professional master's degree designed to equip students with practical knowledge to develop and deploy intelligent engineered systems, says the College. It equips students for possible careers in agriculture, commerce, education, environment, finance, government, healthcare, and manufacturing.
“Artificial Intelligence is the discipline concerned with the design and construction of intelligent systems that perceive, reason out, formulate a decision, and act in an environment to achieve a set of measurable goals,” the College explains. “Such systems embody computational structures that mimic human cognition through symbolic and non-symbolic knowledge representations that understand, learn, decide, and act autonomously.”
