According to a study conducted by sex therapist Dr. Rica Cruz entitled "The Wife, the Mother, and the Slut: Sexual Pleasure for the Filipino woman, A Grounded Theory Approach," what turns a woman on encompasses a range of actions, often extending beyond non-sexual behaviors.

Below are five things husbands do that turn wives on sexually or are colloquially termed as "makalaglag-panty."

1| When he does acts of service 

Noelle, one of the women interviewed for the study, mentions how she gets turned on whenever she sees her husband doing household chores. "Oh my! My panties fall when I see him doing the dishes. I feel that he knows that there’s a high chance that he will get sex when he does the dishes. For me, it’s his way of helping me out. That if he can’t help taking care of the kids, he will help out with the chores," she says.

2 | When he shows appreciation 

This can take the form of positive interactions, as Tony says about her husband: "[I get turned on] when he's pleasant to talk to. He's temperamental, so when he is in a good mood, that's great. Also, because of all my struggles, I felt like I owed myself some rewards. When he shows me that I deserve something nice, like the most expensive item on the menu or if I want to buy something and he buys it for me instead, I feel valued. I open up to him more, literally and figuratively."

3| When he gives the family undivided attention 

Wives find it sexually appealing when their husbands demonstrate active involvement in parenting and family activities. This is evident in the case of Myla, whose husband is often occupied with work, managing their family business. "When he's doing something with the kids, I just want to pull him away and bring him back to the bedroom. The more I see him there, immersed in family life, the more I get really turned on. He's always on his phone, which I hate, and he knows it. So, when he makes an extra effort to not be on his phone—that, for me, is sexy," she explains.

Cruz's study highlights that non-sexual behaviors of husbands—those that contribute to the well-being of the women, their marriage, and their family—are instrumental in arousing sexual desire in their wives. These "laglag panty moments" emphasize the significant role that emotional connections, displays of appreciation, and active participation in family life play in enhancing a woman's sexual pleasure.
