Cebu Pacific Is Launching Cebu-Osaka Flights in October

Cebu Pacific is going all-out in its efforts to expand its international routes. This time, the Gokongwei-led carrier announced it is launching direct flights from Cebu to Osaka in Japan.

“We are thrilled to launch direct flights from Cebu to Osaka,” Xander Lao, president and chief commercial officer of Cebu Pacific, said in a press release. “With Japan being a top-of-mind destination for many Filipino travelers, the new route will surely give them the opportunity to visit one of the country’s dynamic cities.”

Starting October 15, Cebu Pacific will offer trips between Cebu and Osaka four times weekly: every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. The latest announcement comes after the low-cost carrier said it is resuming flights from Clark, Pampanga to four local destinations—Puerto Princesa, Palawan; Iloilo; Davao; and General Santos—in the same month.

Cebu Pacific currently flies to Narita in Japan from Cebu. For travelers coming from Manila, the airline operates trips to Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Narita daily; while those in Clark may avail of the flights to Narita four times per week.

With the opening of the newest route, tourists from metro Cebu will be able to go straight to Osaka, the so-called Japanese “kitchen,” to feast on its seafood delights, as well as visit its most popular attractions, including Universal Studios Japan.

“We also hope that this launch can encourage more travelers from Japan to explore the beauty of the Philippines,” said Lao.

While Cebu-Osaka flights are yet to be available to travelers, Cebu Pacific is offering a Piso Sale promotion for the same route. Travelers can purchase tickets for as low as P1 one-way base fare (exclusive of fees and surcharges) until July 31. The travel period will run from October 15, 2024 to March 31, 2025.
