Cebu Pacific, Clark Int'l Airport Bag Awards at Routes Asia 2024

Cebu Pacific earned the Best Airline award for its outstanding contributions to airport and destination marketing across the Asia-Pacific region. The airline was lauded for its collaborative efforts with airports and both local and international destination partners, making air travel more accessible to the public.

These collaborations have led to the successful resumption of its Clark hub and the launch of 15 domestic and international destinations in April 2023, thereby solidifying its status as the operator of the Philippines' most extensive domestic network.
The award also highlighted CEB’s initiatives to incorporate various sustainable practices into its operations, including the optimization of flight plans and the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) for ground operations. CEB aims to transition to an all-NEO fleet by 2028 and incorporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into its commercial network by 2030.
Clark International Airport secured the accolade in the Under 5 Million Passengers category. Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD), the operator of CRK, stated this recognition followed a year of significant growth in 2023, during which the airport efficiently managed nearly two million passengers, marking a 160% increase from the previous year.
This achievement also reflects the airport's resilience and recovery, highlighted by the addition of five new airlines, four being international carriers, and the expansion of its network with 13 new destinations.
Mactan-Cebu International Airport was also a finalist in the 5-20 Million Passengers Category. In 2023, the airport celebrated a triumphant year, servicing over 10 million international and domestic passengers. This 81% growth, nearing 80% of its pre-pandemic levels, was bolstered by welcoming new carriers and extending its network to 28 domestic and 12 international destinations. The airport's success in regaining a substantial portion of its pre-pandemic network is a testament to its collaborative strategy, enhancing the aviation landscape in the Philippines by fostering relationships with five Philippine carriers and 15 foreign airlines.
