Australia's Flag Carrier to Launch Direct Flights from Manila to Brisbane
Qantas, the national carrier of Australia, has announced the launch of a new direct route from Manila to Brisbane, commencing on October 28, 2024. This significant addition marks the first direct flights operated by Qantas between these two cities in over a decade. The new service will operate four times a week, utilizing the Airbus A330 aircraft, and will significantly enhance connectivity between the Philippines and Australia.

Flying from Manila to Brisbane With Qantas' A330 Business Class
Passengers on the new Manila-Brisbane route will enjoy the luxurious offerings of Qantas' A330 Business Class. The A330 fleet features 27 Business Class suites arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring every passenger has direct aisle access. Each suite can be converted into a lie-flat bed, providing maximum comfort for the journey.
Other perks when traveling in Business include priority check-in counters, a dedicated boarding lane and disembarkation access, access to the Qantas Business lounge or other partner airline lounges, on-demand in-flight entertainment system, onboard food and beverage options, and priority baggage handling.
Qantas has also committed to enhancing the passenger experience with the introduction of fast and free WiFi across its international fleet, including the Airbus A330. This service, boasting enough bandwidth for a reliable and consistent connection, will be progressively introduced on flights between Manila and Australia starting next year.
The new route is expected to add more than 100,000 seats annually between the Philippines and Australia, complementing Qantas' existing daily service to Sydney.
Cam Wallace, CEO of Qantas International, highlighted the importance of this new connection for strengthening business ties and personal relationships between the two countries. He noted, "The Philippines is a very important part of our Asia network so we’re pleased to be growing with a new route to Australia. This new connection will strengthen business links between our two countries. The flights will also make it easier for Filipinos to visit family and friends living in Queensland, as well as offering a new gateway for travelers to explore the region."
Tickets for the new Manila-Brisbane route will be available for purchase on the Qantas website and through travel agents in the coming days.
