See Inside a Bali-Inspired Oasis in Pampanga That's Perfect For a Relaxing Getaway

Nothing can be quite as inspiring as a good rags-to-riches story, and Reg Caligagan's is one for the books.

In his college years, he started hustling by working at a fast-food chain. When on school break, he would watch over computer shops and even became a tricycle driver and a barangay tanod at some point. 

"Kahit pa'no, nakakatulong na 'ko, at the same time, may naiipon pa 'ko. So hindi lang ako umaasa sa magulang ko," Reg tells the OG team. 

"Inaral ko yung pag-stock market," he adds. "Pagka-graduate ko, pinasok ko agad, Sales. Kasi 'yon yung turo sa 'kin ng mga mentor ko, at the same time, yung mga nababasa mo. Kung gusto mong maging businessman, una among pasukin, Sales."

Once Reg was in Sales, he started saving and eventually resigned, jumping straight into business. Today, his biggest venture yet is the scenic Bali-inspired Reca Farm & Resort.

"Napili ko [ang Bali theme] kasi gusto ko siya, yung nature vibes ba," Reg shares. "Sa 'kin kasi gusto ko sa nature, unang-una, nakaka-relax. Kaya ito yung napili kong vibes."

Reca Farm & Resort sits on a whopping 10,000 square meters or one hectare property in Porac, Pampanga.

It features nine luxury villas, each with its own infinity pool powered by copper technology. 

"Hindi sila chlorinated, 'di masakit sa mata, [kung may] allergy [ka] puwede ka, so kung mag-swimming ka man, lumangoy ka, safe na safe ka. Kasi yung copper, it kills bacteria, germs, algae," Reg explains.

All VIP villas come with king-size beds, a comfort room, living area, and a kitchen equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, and utensils.

Some of the villas, such as Bali Farm 2, have a lanai that comes with a hammock and lounge chair set by the pool. 

"No corkage fee. Pet-friendly po tayo," Reg notes.

The VIP 1 Villa, in particular, which is good for four to six persons, offers a refreshing view of the farm. It costs P12,499 on weekdays and P12,999 on weekends. Bali Farm 2, meanwhile, which is good for six to eight persons, costs P11,500 on weekdays and P12,000 on weekends.

For smaller groups of two to four persons, they can also check out the resort's fully-airconditioned cabins, which can be booked for P1,999 to P2,999 a night. Similarly, Reca Farm & Resort does not charge a corkage fee if you were to bring in your own food. You can also bring your pets and enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi at 300 mbps.

Because of its inviting interiors, picturesque views, and warm service, Reca Farm & Resort has fast gained a following. 

Despite the positive response, Reg knows this is just the beginning for his business and has no plans of staying complacent.

"Dapat continuous pa rin yung improvements," Reg says. "So every day, we continue to improve our facilities. Yung mga tao, services, ini-improve namin 'yan."

"Future plan naman ng Reca Resort is magkaroon pa kami ng isa pang hotel and beach resort. Sana maibigay ni Lord yung gano'n kaya kailangan doble sipag pa."

"Sa mga gustong maging entrepreneur o maging isang negosyante, dapat maging handa kayo emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually. Kung problema man 'yan, may solusyon naman lahat ng problema. So 'wag ka lang magi-give up, continuous learning, continuous improvement lang kayo, and 'wag kang susuko hangga't hindi mo naaabot mga pangarap mo."
