Devotees Gather at Locked Quiapo Church on Good Friday

On any given day, and especially on holy days, Quiapo Church is usually teeming with devotees. 

Officially known as the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, the church is home to the dark statue of Jesus Christ believed by many to be miraculous. 

Today, however, the church remained closed due to the enhanced community quarantine in place till April 30 due to COVID-19.

That did not, however, stop fervent devotees from arriving at the church before dawn on Good Friday to pray for their intentions.
