You Can Actually Travel Smarter With This Credit Card
Let's be honest, who doesn't love a good vacation? But traveling often comes with its challenges: navigating crowded airports, dealing with rising airfare costs, and facing hefty foreign transaction fees, just to name a few.
There's a new travel credit card that seeks to address these pain points, allowing the traveler to focus on what matters most, the journey and the destination. Metrobank Travel Signature Visa's proposition sounds very enticing: to help bring you closer to your dream destination.
How?
First, with this new credit card, you can earn one mile for every P30 spent, whether it’s your grocery run, a daily coffee fix, or a splurge at a luxury boutique. Every transaction using your Metrobank Travel Signature Visa serves as a ticket to your next adventure.
"So if you spend around P25,000 per month or more on essentials, that's P300,000 per year. You can earn miles enough for a domestic round-trip flight," offers Melissa Samson, Head of Credit Card Product and Segment Strategy at Metrobank. These air miles can be redeemed with Metrobank's frequent flyer partners, such as Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Miles, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and soon, AirAsia.

Second, this credit card has one of the lowest foreign transaction fees in the market at just 1.68 percent. Travel and financial literacy vlogger Jax Reyes, who's a believer of the new product, explains: "Let's say you spent 1,000 US dollars abroad. Yesterday, Visa's forex rate was at P59.69. With a 1.68 percent foreign transaction fee, when converted to Philippine pesos, it would be P59,692. That's a 1.68 percent fee if you use your Metrobank Travel Signature Visa. But with other cards, the foreign transaction fee can be as high as 3.5 percent. So, with a 3.5 percent fee, the conversion would jump to P60,760. That translates to a savings of P1,008 if you use the correct card. And that P1,008 could easily cover a day's worth of meals for you in Japan."

Designed for Filipino travelers, this new credit card aims to make travel seamless, rewarding, and unforgettable. "This card turns your fees into savings, your waiting time into comfort, and your everyday spending into miles," says Samson.
